Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels a mile long, but we have a few things that will save you some trouble and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is already heating up in Pocatello and the last thing you want is to uncover is that you need AC repair. Going through this simple checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.
- Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often left unaddressed. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units cleared of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
- Schedule Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we enter the picture to help you take on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up lengthens the life of your system and keeps it working at top efficiency. Spring is the best time to set up your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a little investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long.
